The early morning was exciting at our house. Annie decided to get Shelby to play Where The Red Fern Grows and tree a raccoon some time during the night. This poor guy got stuck in our young maple tree instead of a tall pine. He couldn't climb any further. We convinced the dogs we don't live in the Ozarks and that a raccoon isn't a threat to our safety. Once the dogs got inside and JEJ snapped a picture, the raccoon came down the tree and ran to safety. They are still on the lookout even later today for that guy. I guess they want their dog food to be protected!
Aww... what a great shot. I'm glad they were able to get down to safety and I don't blame the dogs for protecting their food! LOL
ReplyDeleteWow! Glad it was able to get down eventually.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, that's one of my all-time favorite books. Actually I considered reading it again recently, but finally opted for "To Kill a Mockingbird" again instead, because it has only been about a year since I last read WtRFG. :-)
Great picture! He was right up at the top, wasn't he? Glad you are safe with that ferocious "Annby" security system you have....
ReplyDeletefantastic photo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture! I also like your school pictures and post. Your dogs are so cute. I just love your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh how I hated that book. I always blamed the boy for putting his dog in a position where it became so seriously injured. I've never understood why so many people like it. The ending wipes out all of the bonding that took place in earlier parts of the book.
