I do love taking pictures of trees. I looked back over my blog posts and realized how many I have done on trees. They can take on a character of their own with the help of the camera. I also discovered this poem today. It was a reminder to me of why I like trees.
Think Like a Tree
by Karen I. Shragg
Soak up the sun
Affirm life's magic
Be graceful in the wind
Stand tall after a storm
Feel refreshed after it rains
Grow strong without notice
Be prepared for each season
Provide shelter to strangers
Hang tough through a cold spell
Emerge renewed at the first signs of spring
Stay deeply rooted while reaching for the sky
Be still long enough to
hear your own leaves rustling.
I do love your collage of trees... that's really neat. What pretty pictures indeed. I am also a big fan of trees.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty poem to go with the post as well. Nice.
Wow, what a beautiful poem. I love trees, also, and I always shed a tear when I see a perfectly healthy tree cut down simply because it was "inconvenient" or "in the way." The poem is right -- we should all be a little more like trees and less like lumberjacks.
ReplyDeleteI love the poem! I like looking at trees too. I think I like them best in the winter when the snow and ice stick to the branches.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful poem! I, too, love trees, especially how they look against the sky, in all kinds of light. Yours are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteaspirations that are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI thank you for choosing that poem.
... now to "Be Still"
Trees can have such character and power, or be little wisps swaying in the breeze. I especially like the way the bare branches of an old tree intertwine against a winter sunset. Thank you for sharing the poem.
