04. What bird would you most like to be?
Dancin' Fool at In the Pink created this mime and I received it from L^2 at Dog’s Eye View. It is an interesting combination of questions to answer on a week-end morning.
01. If you could have super powers what would they be and what would you do with them?
I would like to have arms strong enough to fly so I could get places I really want to go faster.

03. If you were a smell what would it be?
Definitely lilac because there has never been a sweeter smell that takes me back to Grandma’s springtime yard in Spokane, my Mom’s backyard, and now my lilac garden.

04. What bird would you most like to be?
The bluebird because they are beautiful, they are the Idaho state bird, and they mate for life.
05. If you were a bird who's head would you poo on?
I would poo on anybody’s head that works in a school system but doesn’t like kids.
06. Are there any foods that your body craves?
My body craves crisp apples in October, chocolate hearts in February, freshly picked raspberries with cream in June, and my Mom’s homemade orange rolls any time anywhere.
07. What's your favourite time of year?
It is fall for many reasons. I love the changing of the trees, Indian summer, the smell of leaves burning, cooler Sunday evenings in front of the fireplace outside, fleece vests, sweaters, and camping in the inland empire.
08. What's your favourite time of day?
It is the time between dinner and going to bed when I wind down, blog, read, write, and converse with my husband.
09. If a rest is as good as a change which would you choose?
I would choose rest. I have learned in the last few years that I need to give myself time to rest in the week or I am just not good for anybody! It is unnecessary to go until my energy is gone, but then keep going more. It is not productive, healthy, or fun ( my students will attest to this!)

10. If you could have a dinner party and invite any 5 people from the past or present who would they be (living or deceased)?
I would invite five people that have written books about the craft of writing so each of them could share their wisdom around the dinner table. Then we could share our writing and get feedback from each other. Those five would be Julia Cameron (The Sound of Paper),Anne Lamott( bird by bird) ,Georgia Heard (Writing Toward Home), Steven King (On Writing), and Bonni Goldberg (Room to Write and Beyond the Words).
Dog’s Eye View already asked other bloggers to answer the questions, but as is the meme tradition, I'll go ahead and tag a few more to play along too (no obligation, of course): Silver Valley Girl, Princess Molly, Pinehurst in My Dreams, Shelby, and anyone else who would like to answer these questions too. Have fun!

oh ok - I shall try to answer these :)
ReplyDeletejbelle: I will email it to you.
ReplyDeleteshelby: have fun with the meme!
There are many things in this that I'd like to comment on...but the one the struck the loudest chord was your listing of Stephen King's On Writing. What a fantastic book on writing! By far the best I've ever used with students (my Honors English class always reads and discusses it). They actually love it and enjoy applying what he writes about. Love Annie Lamott, too.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm in - but no time frame for completion. I have been wasting my time off playing Bubble Shooter and decompressing from work. . .
