Autumn Has Arrived

"The season for enjoying the fullness of life --
partaking of the harvest, sharing the harvest
with others, and reinvesting and saving portions
of the harvest for yet another season of growth."
Denis Waitley

We thought frost was going to arrive later in the week so JEJ began the autumn ritual of moving the plants in the greenhouse today. It is always difficult to decide what comes in and what has to suffer from the frost. The greenhouse just won't hold all the geraniums, spider plants, petunias, wandering jew,and begonias. When I arrived home JEJ was carrying the aroma of scented geraniums on his shirt. I knew the move had taken place. As I moved through the greenhouse I inhaled the earthy aromas of the summer plants. Yes, autumn has arrived! Sweet William was thrilled to have his favorite resting spot restored for winter.

  1. I don't envy you the choice of which plants to move...

Sweet William looks very happy in his resting spot

  2. IEG: It can't be autumn yet. Reminds me of the song, "Wake me up when September is over." HA! Oh well. Say, we are going to the McManus/Behrens play in Spokane on Saturday. It should be a real hoot!

  3. Ah, the best time of the year!

  4. You need to be putting an extension to that greenhouse :).... I will have a greenhouse up and running by the time spring comes, we have almost finished putting the dam difficult thing together LOL..... the instructions might as well be in chinese for all I can understand them...... and me lads cant figure it out either, or they are just saying that so as to get out of putting it up LOL..... I have just the roof opening bit and the sliding door to put together then the glass to put in.... tis only 10x 8 but I know I will have such fun in it...... saddo that I am lol its nowt like the 65 foot ones we had at our nursery LOL....
