Reading Reflections: A Book Meme from Noni

On Noni's Peacock Blue blog I found this great meme about books. It is fun to reflect on books I have read or want to read. Since it is an open invitation, give it a go yourself. I'd be interested to know your choices so let me know if you participate. . . I am always looking for new book ideas.

The last lines of one of my favorite books:
" Spring is unlatching its heavy doors, rousting old dusty hibernators from their sleep, and beginning a quiet fumbling with buttons, knots, and nubbins, and the bolting ribbons of time, light, and gore. As I walk down to the mailbox, enveloped in mist, birds snitch on twitchy feet in the aspens, morning ghosts between the houses, and the air tastes green at last. " - Cultivating Delight, A Natural History of My Garden by Diane Ackerman

  3. Oh, my this was so fun to read your list! The 5 Little Peppers--they were a favorite too. And Anna Quindlen, and on and on. We could spend all day discussing this, yes? Loved Diane Ackerman's quote--there's another favorite author. Keep me posted on The Shack.
Have a great week, my friend.

  4. This was a good one! I'm in the middle of writing my response to this, but am also in the middle of watching Pride and Prejudice, and need (!) to finish that first. I'll probably post it tomorrow.

  5. Crafty... my friend that recommended that book said the same thing. I think it will be next on my list.
Shelby... I hope you find some to add to your pile!
Noni... we do have similar taste I must say. I had forgotten about Diane Ackerman and am now pulling out her stuff and rereading it. I love her poetic prose about nature.
Rondi... I look forward to seeing your meme.
