The Heart of the Matter,Part 2: Treasures

Valentine Treasures
Valentine treasures are people who
have often crossed your mind,
family, friends and others, too,
who in your life have shined
the warmth of love or a spark of light
that makes you remember them;
no matter how long since you’ve actually met,
each one is a luminous gem
who gleams and glows in your memory,
bringing special pleasures,
and that’s why this Valentine comes to you:
You’re one of those sparkling treasures!

  1. A beautiful heart collage --- and a lovely poem. Happy Valentine's Day to you!!!!!

PS: I met a student from PMS at the market this week; from early 80's. She was surprised I recognized her. Nice chat as she scanned my groceries. Hard to imagine she's early 40's already! Wow, where does the time fly? Four kids: 24, 15, 2 and 1.

  3. Happy Valentines Day dear you....

I have many many heart shaped things around my house, but my favourite of all is something I bought in America 3 1/2 years ago when I was in Wisconsin (not the Maine trip) - its an antiquie rusted metal long stencil, about 3 inches high and about 15 inches long, like a ruler, and it has about 9 hearts punched out... the bloke in the antique shop where I spied it said it was probably turn of the last century, anyways it hangs above me kitchen door so that anyone that passes under it is filled with the love from my home......

  4. La Tea Dah... I always think our students will stay the same age. The students that were seniors when I first came here now have children that are in my sixth grade class. How does it happen?
Thanks Michelle... I want to go out and find my own heart images to take pictures of now.
I thought of you Marmite when I was putting together this collage. Your antique with the hearts sounds like a great find.
