Sunday Scribblings: Fowl

I had lots of foul things I could have shared today, but I decided instead to take the liberty of using a word that sounds the same. Fowl has been spotted all over our property. Above the cardinal brightens up the driveway.
These hungry fowl fly away every time I try to snap a photo. This time the little guy tried to blend in with the stand while feeding. It is not rare to have a woodpecker, but just rare to catch a photo of him feeding.
Something went "afowl" as this guy took off from the feeder.
I had to add my favorite fowl to the photo collection today. This is Mom's fried chicken from my brother's birthday dinner.
You can find other Sunday Scribblings using foul here.

Loved the pictures and the article. I took a similar liberty in my take. Fowl sounds the same as foul so I saw no problem! Nice one.

The most reader friendly take on the prompt that I have read. Most of us went the other way: stench, murder, and villains. You made nice, well done.

  8. I like this perspective very much, especially woodpecker! I didn't think of taking a liberty like this, and have chosen to read rather than write this week.

  11. I saw a flicker hanging on my tube feeder two days ago. When I came home from work today my feeder was lying on the ground - walked out there to recover, noticed there were no birds about... and woosh!!! about got winged by a sharp shinned hawk. Smorgasbord, I guess.

Apparently he was looking for a fowl meal, too? (:
