Photo Hunt: Wooden

I am visiting my childhood home in Kellogg this week-end. Wooden hardwood floors that have been waxed and polished with care by my mother for forty-five years still hold their beauty as I stand in my childhood bedroom doorway.

When carpet was added to the steps a wooden rail was added for safety. The wooden spindles were the only thing to grab before.

The wooden raised beds in Mom's yard appear to be topped with loaves of white bread while they wait for the spring thaw.

Great take on wooden, especially since they are three wooden things I love. We're still waiting on our wooden floors and raised beds (loaves of bread -- ha!) to be finished this summer.

  2. That must be some polish over the years, I've just made a raised bed, haven't had the same amount of snow though.

  3. Those are all great shots for the wooden theme. I grew up with hardwood floors and I hope to be able to replace my wall to wall carpet with hardwoods one day but it will be a huge job so it keeps getting pushed down the list. Your parents floors are beautiful. I also like the banister and the garden boxes covered in snow. Have a great weekend.

  9. Oh no!

    Arrrrrrrrggghhh!

Is that water on the hardwood floor?!!

You go get a towel and clean that up right now before it spots.

    Emergency!
    Emergency!

You wipe up that water or you can just stay home and clean the woodwork!

  14. Thanks for sharing your childhood home with us. Wish I could go back and visit mine. I LOVE hardwood floors. I can't wait to rip out the carpet in my living room and replace it with hardwood floors. I love poetry, too. My favorite is William Wordsworth. Thanks again!

  15. Wonderful floor, so much nicer than the grubby (dogged!) carpet we have. Those raised beds look surreal. I'm glad we don't get snow like that.
